Saucijs Uniq has won the FICA award for the most sustainable food project. Jury chairman Hans Huibers praised the courage and creativity of the team, which solved a local problem in a controversial market in a sustainable way.
Inholland students came up with a mini sausage roll made from goose meat, derived from the waterfowl that one of them considered a pest. This culinary product with a good story was developed on behalf of the Food Innovation Community Amsterdam (FICA). After starting their own business in collaboration with Jong Ondernemen, called "Wild of Goose," they launched self-conceived and self-developed products on the market.
If there is a surplus of geese in the Netherlands, why not just turn them into something useful? Saucijs Uniq proves that it can be done in a sustainable way!
